Memories from a study visit to Estonia

We had a lovely and instructive study visit, which I will always remember, because of the beautiful, newly discovered northern country, the dynamic Baltic city and the interesting and warm people.

Because this was my first such visit, I particularly enjoyed meeting new people, and discovering their cultural environment, habits and customs. I was delighted to meet people from different social systems with somewhat different views and experiences of the world of adult education. I also learnt a great deal from other members of the 'Slovene expedition', as I was the youngest in the team, and all the other members were happy to share with me their wealth of experience.

I will particularly remember our gathering because of the great energy of our team, which on the one hand was very diverse, and on the other hand somehow still connected and harmonious with a common denominator.

I would like to thank the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education for the invitation, and all other participants (see the photograph) for an unforgettable exploration of Estonian culture, cuisine and history, and not least for the friendly socialising and wonderful memories from the lifelong learning festival.
