France | Learners' testimonies: Myrieme Kamar (Slovenian meeting)My experience of adult learning festivals: I didn't know anything about the learning festival and everything was brand new for me. I opened my eyes on other European cultures I never heard before. I took the plane for the first time; I learned to talk with persons who don't talk the same language than me. Taking part in a learning festival was very surprising for me. I saw a lot of emotion, joy and implication from all the organization volunteers. All the participants to the awards were also very excited. Being allowed to talk to the winners, made me understand their projects. Each of them where presented on video and it was easier to make the translation. That was a delightful experience and I hope one day, this type of festival can happen at home. What did I learn from the experience? Long life learning is a way to keep in touch with people and not be alone. As I'm not working, that's the best way to go on learning and sharing with other persons. That's also the way to keep on learning new techniques and teach them to other persons. What do I do as a result of participation? Knowing an activity helps me share, discuss and help a new learner. That's thrilling me and I know that I still have to learn so I can teach other persons.
