France | Learners' testimonies: Marie Annick (Estonian meeting)My experience of adult learning festivals: I knew about long life learning but I didn't know that so much activities and actions where part of this program. For me, it was only concerning school, diplomas and working process. Now that I've been taking part in a learning festival, I'm aware about the award concept. I've seen persons being proud and affected when called for a prize. We don't see that in France because it said to be old fashion. I can see now that it's giving joy, pride and value to the persons' implication. I'd like to see this happening in France. What did I learn from the experience? During this seminary, I could see that being recognized for your abilities is enjoying. That's very important for unemployed persons, who feel like being useless. I like this feeling that people still can find a path or a way to live and not simply exist. Being a citizen with the ability to take part in a discussion, being listened to, participating, being gentle and generous is what I've learn of this experience. What do I do as a result of participation? I would like to participate more and be active and take part in new projects. I wish disabled persons will be more often associate to common project so that sharing all together is being the normal way of living.
